Canmore Tennis Board of Directors

Canmore Tennis operates under the leadership of a volunteer Board of Directors in the following capacities:

Ron Remple, Past President

Ron, moved to Canmore 28 years ago with his wife Paula and family. The family has grown up and moved on, leaving time for Ron to volunteer with Canmore Tennis. Ron loves living in Canmore to play tennis, hike and bike in the summer, and ski in the winter.

Ann Shannon, Secretary

Focus on the ball, Ann! Am I really here? Playing tennis? But look! The mountains, the elk, the birds, the sky! This is what I thought when we arrived in Canmore eleven years ago, and I am still working on it. It is such a joy to be a part of the tennis community here.

Lisa McDowell, Governance and Special Projects Director

After a 25-year hiatus, Lisa returned to playing tennis a few years ago in Canmore and now can't believe she waited so long! She takes advantage of the year-round Bow Valley offerings, including hiking, biking, golf, skiing and curling, but Tennis in Canmore is extra special with the great membership, the fun on and off the courts, and those views aren't so bad either.

Daniela Pacheco, Treasurer

Daniela has found tennis to be a challenging and invigorating hobby, which has led to much growth and personal accomplishments. She feels lucky to be in a place where she can hit the courts, hike a trail, and still have time for coffee with friends, all before noon. Daniela looks forward to every chance she gets to play, connect, and be part of the growth and exciting new chapter of the Canmore Tennis Club.

Gail Quinn, Programming and Social Director

Gail loves living in Canmore for the hiking, skiing and, of course, tennis. Canmore Tennis provides her with opportunities for great matches and great fun. Playing tennis on Main Street during the ‘100 Years of Tennis in Canmore’ celebration at the 2024 Canada Day Parade was certainly a highlight.

Lyall Samaroden, Communications Director.

Lyall has enjoyed playing tennis for the past 23 years. He's still trying to get his feet under him on the court, but he loves a good match and enjoys the off-court fun that surrounds our sport.

Carolyne Kauser-Abbott, Website and Special Projects Director

In 2020, Carolyne discovered the Canmore Tennis group. She is ready to pick up a racquet at any time. She remains a student of the game and loves playing singles and doubles matches with friends. While Carolyne loves Canmore all year, she enjoys the tennis season the most.
